Terms of service
Terms of using Codava
Last updated: 12 October 2026
About these terms
These terms apply when you use codava.io, create a Codava account or use Devo, our AI project assistant. Codava is a software company that plans, designs and builds software for businesses. By using the website or signing in, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or with your Google account. Keep access to your email and Google account secure, because anyone who controls them can sign in as you.
- Give us an email address that belongs to you and that you can receive messages on.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
Devo and project blueprints
- Devo is a free service that uses artificial intelligence to ask you questions and prepare an initial blueprint for your project: a recommended kind of solution, a suggested first version, systems to connect and sample screens.
- A blueprint is an initial concept for discussion. It is not a quotation, a commitment, a contract or professional, legal or financial advice, and it may contain mistakes or omissions. Review it carefully before you rely on it.
- Sample screens are illustrations built from ready templates. They do not represent a final design.
- Scope, cost and timeline are agreed only with Codava's team in a separate written agreement.
- Each account and network has a daily usage limit, and we may change these limits or pause the service to keep it available and secure.
Acceptable use
When you use our services, you agree not to:
- enter information that you have no right to share, or sensitive personal data about other people;
- use the services for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive or that infringes the rights of others;
- try to get around usage limits, for example by creating many accounts, or overload, scan or attack the website;
- try to make Devo ignore its instructions or reveal its configuration, or collect its output automatically;
- copy, resell or offer the services to others as your own service.
Content and ownership
- You keep ownership of the descriptions and answers you give us. You allow us to process them to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy.
- You may use the blueprint Devo prepares for you for your own project, including sharing it with partners or using it to write your business requirements document. Similar businesses may receive similar recommendations.
- The website, its design, the Codava and Devo names and logos, and the templates behind the sample screens belong to Codava.
Projects with Codava
Requesting a discussion does not create an obligation for you or for us. When we work on a project together, the scope, price, payment terms, ownership of the work and delivery are set in a separate written agreement, and that agreement prevails over these terms for that project.
Availability and changes
This section covers the free and supporting services we offer through codava.io, such as the website, your account on it, Devo and project blueprints. It does not cover the systems we build for our clients or Codava's products, which are governed by their own contracts and agreements.
We work to keep these free services available, but we provide them as they are and do not guarantee that they will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, pause or end any part of them at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Codava is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on a blueprint or other content from the free services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law.
Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the services or other users at risk. You can stop using the services and delete your account at any time.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data, and forms part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top of this page, and we tell account holders by email about important changes. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
